Dear guests, The Greek Government is taking urgent measures this summer, in order to save the natural ecosystem of the island of Chrissi and protect the unique junipers forest on its mainland.
You are advised to remain only on the beach shoreline for swimming and walking, throughout your visit on the island, and not to enter the Mediterranean forest land ahead of you (Access to the mainland is forbidden).
The island has no infrastructure, no toilets, no shade, no shops, no
medical treatment and no trash cans. So before you
disembark (disembarkation will be very close to the beach), take with you anything you may need and please make sure
that you don't leave any garbage behind, but take them back with you on the ship.

Your boat trip to the island of Chrissi starts from Ierapetra. The town is located approximately 35 kilometers south of the city of Agios Nikolaos. You can drive, take the bus or a taxi to get here. Either way, your trip should last for 35-40 minutes from Agios Nikolaos. In case you are traveling from Heraklion, Rethimno or Chania, be advised that the trip will be a little longer, but your arrival to the island of Chrissi will be worth your trouble.
In case you drive to Ierapetra finding parking should not be a problem. There is a free parking lot in front of the port or you could park for free at many side roads close by. There are also two private parking lots in walking distance.
Cruises to the island take place during the summer season, meaning that you can visit the island from May to October depending on the weather conditions.
In most cases the ferry departs every day at 10:45 AM. For your convenience we advise you to be at the port half an hour before the departure time. While at the port you may wait until your departure at the various cafes located by the port. The surrounding area provides you with enough shade, in order to avoid the heat and glare of the hot sun.
The cruise to the island last for 45-55 minutes. While on board, rest, enjoy the Libyan Sea view, or have a meal. Before disembarking on the island, you may want to buy some food, bottled water or refreshments to have with you throughout the day. You can use your credit card onboard for your purchases.
For your convenience, please don’t forget to wear a hat, sunscreen and comfortable shoes. During the summer months temperatures can be really high. We also provide umbrellas onboard, with an additional cost of 7€.
Please be advised that for your convenience you should be at the port half an hour before the ferry departure time (10:15).
While onboard you can enjoy the view, have a meal, or buy some food & drinks to enjoy while at the beach. You can rent an umbrella on board for your day under the sun, for 5€.
